Aeros make roster moves

By sstorm Published: June 29, 2010

The Aeros made a series of roster moves Tuesday as LHP Nick Hagadone was transferred to Short-Season Mahoning Valley, RHP Marty Popham joined the Aeros from high Class-A Kinston and 1B Beau Mills was activated from the disabled list.

Hagadone, tabbed as the third-best prospect in the Cleveland Indians organization prior to the season by Baseball America, is 1-0 with a 6.16 ERA in his first five Double-A starts.

Popham will make a spot start tonight for the Aeros against the Richmond Flying Squirrels. He began the 2010 season with low Class-A Lake County, where he was 3-1 with a 3.70 ERA in eight outings (four starts). He earned the promotion to Kinston May 22, where he's made six starts and owns a 5.16 ERA.

Mills returns to the Aeros roster after missing 15 games with an intercostal strain. Cleveland’s first round draft pick (13th overall) in the 2007 draft out of Lewis-Clark State, Mills is batting just .205 with three home runs in 54 games this season.

The Aeros look to snap a four-game losing streak tonight at 7:05 p.m. in the second game of a three-game series at The Diamond in Richmond.
