The Aeros increased their winning streak to a franchise-high tying record 11 games with a 4-3 win over Portland Friday, rallying from a 3-0 deficit with a run in each of the last four innings.
With the win, the Aeros continued their climb out of the Eastern League Western Division cellar and are now in a tie for second place and a game over .500 for the first time since April 16th.
Starter and LHP Kelvin De La Cruz gave up the Sea Dogs three runs all in the first inning, but settled in from there. Three Aeros relievers - RHP's Bryan Price, Carlton Smith and Bryce Stowell - did not allow a run over the final four frames as Smith picked up the win and Stowell recorded his fourth save.
Catcher Damaso Espino led the way on offense in going 2-for-4 with two RBI and threw out two base runners attempting to steal. Third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall launched another home run - this one his fifth in 13 contests since coming off the disabled list May 28th with a shoulder strain.
The Aeros look to set the record tonight as they continue this weekend series with the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox affiliate) at Canal Park at 7:05 p.m.
