Aeros players figure prominently in Eastern League All-Star Game

Aeros players figured prominetly in Wednesday night's Eastern League All-Star Game at Trenton's Waterefront Park.

The Southern Division, which boasted five Aeros players, topped the North All-Stars 5-3.

Catcher Carlos Santana scored an early run after being hit by a pitch.

Pitcher Jeanmar Gomez tossing a hitless fifth inning to preserve a 3-3 tie.

Outfielder Nick Weglarz scoring the go-ahead run in the eighth inning to give the Southern Division a 4-3 lead.

Akron and Southern Division manager Mike Sarbaugh called on a familiar face in reliever Carlton Smith with two outs in the ninth.

Smith, from nearby Piscataway, N.J., earned the save after facing two batters in the ninth.
