Aeros rally in ninth top Defenders 2-1

KEY STATS: Aeros catcher Carlos Santana improved his career and Aeros season-high hitting streak to 14 games with a one-out double down the right field line in the fourth inning...With the win, the Aeros take the series 2 games to 1.

KEY MOMENTS: With just one out in the first inning and a run already home on an RBI-single by Defenders shortstop Brandon Crawford, Aeros Left-handed pitcher Bobby Livingston tip-toed out of a bases-loaded jam...The Aeros tied the score 1-1 in the third on back-to-back doubles by shortstop Carlos Rivero and third baseman Jerad Head...Aeros designated hitter Matt Bride drove in the winning run with a double that scored Santana.

STORM'S STARS: Santana was hit by a pitch on his right leg in the sixth and went down in a heap at the plate. But he stayed in the game and went on to work a lead-off walk in the ninth and scored the winning run...right-handed pitcher Steven Wright notched the win, improving to a perfect 9-0 with a 2.84 ERA after two innings of scoreless relief.

UP NEXT: The Aeros begin a three-game weekend series against visiting New Britain (Minnesota Twins) tonight at Canal Park at 7:05 p.m. A pair of lefties will take the mound in Aeros newcomer Eric Berger (0-0, 0.00 ERA) and Rock Cats Ryan Mullins (7-10, 4.54 ERA).
