CLEVELAND: Hector Ambriz might need surgery to repair his aching elbow, but he apparently has a choice of treatments.
""He's going to think about it and get back to (head trainer) Lonnie Soloff,'' manager Manny Acta said this afternoon.
Ambriz was examined by Dr. Lewis Yocum in Anaheim on Wednesday, near Ambriz's Southern California home. Apparently, the balky elbow bothered Ambriz for some time but only recently did he inform the Tribe medical staff.
In other injury news, Asdrubal Cabrera's sprained wrist has healed enough for him to swing a bat.
""He took some dry swings today, and he took ground balls,'' Acta said. ""He's made a lot of improvement. He's going to see Dr. (Tom) Graham today, and we'll go from there. I anticipate that he's close to returning.''
Jason Donald, sidelined for a week and a half with a bruised tendon in his right index finger, also was scheduled to be examined by Graham.
