Betancourt recalled; Sowers sent down
The Indians started Thursday morning with a roster move. reliever Rafael Betancourt will be returning to the major league squad from the 15-day disabled list. Left-handed starting pitcher Jeremy Sowers will be returning to Triple A Columbus to make room on the roster for him.
Betancourt pitched 3.1 innings of scoreless baseball while on rehab assignment with Columbus. He did not allow a hit, walked one and struck out four in three appearances.
