Branyan says no-go
Not long after Russell Branyan took ground balls at first base this morning, he walked to the clubhouse and was asked by two reporters if he would play in games next week.
Branyan said no and walked away. If Branyan doesn't get 30 or more at-bats against live pitching the final week of training camp, he will not open the season at first base. He has been sidelined the entire spring with a herniated disc.
