Cabrera signs one-year deal with Tribe
Late Monday night, the Indians signed shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera to a one-year Major League contract for the 2011 season, avoiding arbitration.
Last year, the 25-year old batted .276 with 16 doubles, a triple, three home runs and 29 RBI in 97 games despite missing nearly two months with a broken left forearm. In 94 starts at shortstop, Cabrera compiled a fielding percentage of .972 (11 errors with 431 total chances for the season.
