Carmona leaves game with quad injury
CINCINNATI: Fausto Carmona left the game with a strained right quad in the third inning after laying down a bunt to advance a runner.
Carmona tripped as he reached the bag and went sprawling , breaking his fall with his outstretched hands. After head trainer Lonnie Soloff checked him, Carmona left for a pinch runner.
Two innings earlier, Carmona got clipped in the hand with a ground ball hit by Cincinnati starter Homer Bailey.
Howevever, appearances sometimes are deceiving. Despite taking two jolts to his hands, the Tribe announced in the seenth inning that Carmona left with a quad injury.
