Indians add left-hander Scott Maine, drop two from roster
The Indians announced today that they claimed left-handed pitcher Scott Maine off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays. The Indians also outrighted catcher/outfielder Vinny Rottino and right-hander Kevin Slowey to Triple-A Columbus.
The 40-man roster stands at 34 players with three players on the 60-day disabled list.

Indians name coaching staff, exercise option on Jimenez
The Indians and new manager Terry Francona will go to war in 2013 with a coaching staff that includes only one holdover.
Bench coach Sandy Alomar will return to assist Francona after performing the same duties in 2012 for ousted manager Manny Acta.

The Indians and their manager, Terry Francona, completed the team's coaching staff. They are bench coach Sandy Alomar, pitching coach Mickey Callaway, hitting coach Ty Van Burkleo, first base coach Mike Sarbaugh, third base coach Brad Mills and bullpen coach Kevin Cash.

Indians' Matt LaPorta undergoes hip surgery
The Indians announced today first baseman/outfielder Matt LaPorta underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left hip Thursday in Nashville.
Dr. Thomas Byrd of the Nashville Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic center performed the procedure, a debridement of the hip joint.

Brantley undergoes surgery for sports hernia
Center fielder Michael Brantley underwent surgery this morning in Philadelphia to repair a sports hernia on the left side of his abdominal wall.
The 24-minute procedure was performed by Dr. William Meyers. Recovery is expected to be three to six weeks.

Report: Terry Francona to interview with Indians on Friday
Former Boston Red Sox manager Terry Francona will interview with the Indians on Friday.
Francona’s meeting will come one day after interim manager Sandy Alomar Jr. has his formal interview with General Manager Chris Antonetti about becoming the replacement for Manny Acta, who was dismissed last week with six games left in the season. Alomar and Francona are the only confirmed candidates for the Indians’ managerial opening.
