Damon to join Tribe in Chicago

By Sheldon Ocker Published: April 30, 2012

Johnny Damon will not go to Columbus to polish his swing against Triple-A  pitchers. He will do that in Chicago against White Sox pitching..

Space must be made on both the 40-man and 25-man rosters for Damon, but the club announced that he will join the Tribe for its three-game series at U.S. Cellular Field, which begins Tuesday night.

Who is most vulnerable? The obvious choice is Aaron Cunningham, who is the team's only extra outfielder.and the only legitimate late-inning defensive replacement for Shelley Duncan. It is ironic that Cunningham has been making contributions at the plate lately, though he is not regarded as an offensive threat. .

Damon has been prepping for his 2012 debut at the Tribe's extended spring training program in Goodyear, Ariz.
