Drennen homer lifts Aeros
AKRON AEROS 4, NEW HAMPSHIRE FISHER CATS 2
KEY STATS: The Aeros stranded 11 batters on base, leaving the bases loaded in the fourth and fifth inning and grounding into a double play with the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth. Their first two runs were unearned, scoring on a throwing error in the second inning.
KEY MOMENTS: After the Fisher Cats tied the game at two in the top of the eighth inning, Aeros right fielder John Drennen line a 3-2 pitch into the right field stands for a game-winning, two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning.
STAR: Drennen continued his hot streak since being recalled from Kinston. In the nine games since being recalled he is hitting .353 with 16 RBI, including the game-winning, two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning Tuesday.
UP NEXT: The Aeros continue their six-game homestand today,facing the Fisher Cats again with a 7:05 start. Aeros right-hander Hector Rondon (6-4, 3.31 ERA) and Fisher Cats right-hander Randy Boone (4-3, 3.72 ERA) are the scheduled pitchers. Indians righthander Jake Westbrook (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will continue his rehabilation assignment Thursday in the series finale. Right hander Mark Rzepczynksi (6-5, 3.45 ERA) is scheduled to start for New Hampshire.
