Hall Player to be Named in Paul Byrd Trade
The Cleveland Indians announced late Thursday that they acquired minor league outfielder Mickey Hall from the Boston Red Sox to complete the August 12th trade that sent veteran right-hander Paul Byrd to the Red Sox for a Player to be Named later.
Hall, 24, spent most of last season at Double-A Portland, where he hit .232 (61-for-263) with 16 2B, 13 HR and 35 RBI in 82 games with the Sea Dogs. Hall also spent time with the Class-A Lancaster JetHawks where he hit .216 (8-for-37) in 12 games. The Marietta, GA native was a second-round pick by the Red Sox in the 2003 draft and owns a 6-year minor league career average of .239 (434-for-1815) in 538 games.
