Indians activate Marte; LaPorta to Columbus
The Cleveland Indians activated infielder Andy Marte from the 15-day disabled list today.
Matt LaPorta has been reassigned to Triple-A Columbus to make room on the 25-man roster.
Marte -- who was battling an infected, ingrown stomach hair -- is hitting .208 (5-24) with four runs scored, a triple, a home run and seven RBI in 15 games this season for the Indians.
LaPorta was hitting .218 (26-119) with 13 runs scored, four doubles, a home run and seven RBI in 35 games with the Indians this year (.277SLG/.290 OB/.567 OPS).
