Indians add Coach at Rookie Class-A Mahoning Valley
The Indians announced Tuesday that Tony Mansolino has been added to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers coaching staff, joining Manager Dave Wallace and Pitching Coach Greg Hibbard for the 2011 season.
Mansolino, 28, begins his coaching career with the Indians after playing six seasons as an infielder from 2005-10. He was selected in the 26th round in the 2005 draft out of Vanderbilt by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Mansolino finished his minor league career with a .232 batting average, 19 home runs and 169 RBI in 441 games. His father, Doug, is the Infield Coordinator in the Phillies Player Development System.
