Multiple sources are reporting that the struggling Indians have called up third base and No. 1 prospect Lonnie Chisenhall in an effort to jump start their ailing ofense.
The Indians begin a three-game series tonight in Arizona after being swept in three games in San Francisco, a series in which the Tribe mustered only four runs and went 2-for-22 with runners in scoring position.
To clear room on the roster, veteran infielder Adam Everett was released.
In 65 games for Columbus, Chisenhall batted .265 with seven home runs and 44 RBI. Monday he was named the International League's Player of the Week after hitting .429 (9-for-21) with two home runs, 14 RBI and an .801 slugging percentage in five games for the Clippers after being activated from the disabled list following a concussion.
