Here's how the Indians four minor league teams fared Wednesday:
Triple-A Columbus (9-5) - The host Clippers rallied past Louisville 4-3 at Huntington Park, scoring a run in each of the last four innings to record the victory...C LUKE CARLIN went 3-for-4 with a double, home run and two RBI...RF CHAD HUFFMAN put Columbus on the board in the sixth inning with a solo home run that sparked the Clippers offense to life...RHP ALEX WHITE limited the Indians to two runs on five hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings, but earned a no-decision...RHP JOSH JUDY allowed a run in the ninth for the blown save, but lucked into the win when LF JERAD HEAD hit a RBI-single that scored 3B LONNIE CHISENHALL for the win.
Double-A Akron (7-7) - The visiting Aeros were shut out for the third time this season, losing to Bowie 3-0 at Prince George's Stadium...RHP AUSTIN ADAMS (1-1, 2.30 ERA) was the hard-luck loser, allowing the Baysox only an unearned run on four hits and two walks while striking out seven in 4 2/3 innings...Although the Aeros were shutout on the scoreboard, OF TIM FEDROFF accounted for two of the team's six hits.
High Class-A Kinston (4-8) - The visiting K-Tribe won back-to-back games for the first time this season with a 4-1 victory over Wilmington at Frawley Stadium...RHP MARTY POPHAM (0-0, 3.48 ERA) had a perfect game through four innings, but was removed from the game due to a pitch count. He retired all 12 batters he faced, striking out three...RHP TYLER STURDEVANT (2-1, 2.08 ERA) gave up a lead-off home run to start the fifth inning but then limited the Blue Rocks to just three more harmless hits over three innings to pick up his second win of the season...RHP JOSE FLORES pitched the final two innings to earn his first save of the season...INF ADAM ABRAHAM extended his on-base streak to 12 games with a double...C DOUG PICKENS went 3-for-4 with a RBI leading eight players in Kinston’s starting lineup with at least one hit.
Low Class-A Lake County (7-7) - The Captains split a double header with Lansing, winning Game One 5-1 while dropping the nightcap 6-5...In the first game RHP KYLE BLAIR (1-0, 3.21 ERA) earned his first professional win in allowing just one run on five hits over six solid frames...INF JESUS AGUILAR hit his first home run of the season, a two-run shot in the first inning...C ALEX MONSALVE and SS NICK BARTOLONE each added two hits a piece...In Game 2, 3B GIOVANNY URSHELA homered and collected four RBI, but it wasn’t enough as the Lugnuts overcame a 3-0 deficit for the win...Reliever and RHP TONY DISCHLER (0-1, 22.50 ERA) took the loss after giving up five runs in just two-thirds of the top of the sixth inning. Starter and RHP COLE COOK (0-1, 3.21 ERA) had a no-decision in five innings of work desite giving only a run on three hits, while walking one and striking out three.
