Indians Down on the Farm

Here's how the Indians minor league teams fared Sunday:

Triple-A Columbus (11-5) - The Clippers won their third consecutive game via a 6-4 victory over Indianapolis at Huntington Park, using a five-run fourth inning to take control of the game...RHP JENSEN LEWIS (1-0, 0.00 ERA) earned the win with 1 2/3 scoreless innings of relief...Starter and RHP COREY KLUBER limited the Indians to two runs on hits but issued six walks in 3 1/3 innings. After falling behind 2-0 in the second inning, OF TRAVIS BUCK’s solo home run to put the host on the board. The big fourth inning rally was sparked by a two-run triple by INF JORDAN BROWN and back-to-back homers by C PAUL PHILLIPS and INF LUIS VALBUENA...RHP JOSH JUDY (2-1, 3.68 ERA) pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his first save of the season.

Double-A Akron (8-9) - The Aeros were fortunate to have easter Sunday as a scheduled off day.

High Class-A Kinston (6-10) - After a 1-6 start to the season, Kinston has won five of its last nine contests, including a 3-2 win over Myrtle Beach at Historic Grainger Stadium...After spotting the Pelicans a one-run lead in the first inning lead, OF TYLER HOLT tied the game with a solo home. He finished the game a triple shy of hitting for the cycle, going 3-for-4 with two steals to give him a league-best eight for the season...RHP BRETT BRACH (1-1, 1.80 ERA) picked up his first win of the year, allowing just a run on four hits while striking out five in five innings...RHP's MARTY POPHAM and TYLER STURDEVANT notched their first holds of the season before RHP PRESTON GUILMET recorded his first save of the season.

Low Class-A Lake County (9-8) - The Captains also enjoyed a scheduled off day.
