Triple-A Columbus (21-5) - There's no end in sight for the Clippers recent winning streak, which reached 13 games with an 8-2 victory at Charlotte that capped a perfect 8-0 eight-game road trip...RHP ZACH MCALLISTER (5-0, 3.09 ERA) picked up the win by pitching a season-high eight innings, allowing the Knights just two runs while scattering seven hits and striking out five. His five wins lead all International League pitchers...2B JASON KIPNIS went 2-for-4 with three RBI to lead the offense...3B LONNIE CHISENHALL and SS CORD PHELPS each had a hit, walked twice and scored two runs...DH CHAD HUFFMAN added a single, a walk and two RBI...RHP CARLTON SMITH struck out the side in the ninth inning to secure the win...At 21-5, the Clippers have the best record among all minor league teams. During the 13-game winning streak, Columbus has outscored its opponents 103-44. The Clippers lead the IL in hits (259), batting average (.294), runs scored (166), RBI (154), SLG% (.461), OB% (.388) and walks (128).
Double-A Aeros (12-13) - The Aeros game at Altoona was rained out. The game is scheduled to be made up as part of a doubleheader on May 21 in Altoona...C CHUN CHEN is batting .295 with team-highs in home runs (four) and RBI (15)...Akron’s pitchers have the fourth lowest ERA in the Eastern League at 3.17…LHP NICK HAGADONE (1-0, 0.00 ERA) has not allowed a run in 14 2/3 innings, covering seven appearances. Over that span, he's limited opponents to just eight hits while striking out 19 and issuing only two walks. Batters are hitting a mere .157 against Hagadone, who is tied for first in the EL with four holds on the season.
High Class-A Kinston (9-15) - The Kinston Indians and Salem Red Sox game was suspended in the bottom of the first inning of a scoreless game due to rain. The game was scheduled to be picked up at that point Wednesday...RHP PRESTON GUILMET has not allowed a run in 9 1/3 innings, while opponents are batting a mere .182 against him. In eight appearances, Guilmet has struck out nine, has not issued a walk and his WHIP of 0.64 is a team high…LHP DREW POMERANZ (0-0, 1.54 ERA) has also turned heads in his professional debut. The Indians first-round pick last summer ranks among the Carolina League Leaders in WHIP (0.86, second), average against (.160, third), fewest baserunners per nine innings (7.21, second), strikeouts (34, first), strikeouts per nine innings (13.11, second) and ERA (1.54, second)…INF ADAM ABRAHAM owns three of Kinston’s eight home runs in addition to four doubles, nine RBI and a club-best 14 walks this season. He also leads the team with an OPS of .778…INF JUSTIN TOOLE is hitting a .290 clip through 21 games played…OF BO GREENWELL leads the team with a .310 batting average to go along with a home run and nine RBI.
Low Class-A Lake County (14-12) - The visiting Captains topped Lansing 2-1 to earn the three-game series win...RHP MICHAEL GOODNIGHT (2-2) limited the Lugnuts to just one run on one hit, finishing the game with a career-high 10 strikeouts (including five in a row)...RHP DALE DICKERSON picked up the hold and RHP CLAYTON EHLERT his seventh save, as the pair combined to face just one batter over the limit without surrendering a hit over the last three innings in the one-hitter...Lake County scored both of its runs in the fifth inning, courtesy of two Lugnut walks, an error, a misplayed ball and a single by OF TYLER CANNON.
