Indians win rubber match with Royals
It didn't look promising for seven innings, but, perhaps, the Indians were just biding their time.
Kansas City starting pitcher Gil Meche retired 16 straight batters at one point before an error by second basemen Alberto Callaspo allowed the tying run to score in the eighth, making the score 2-2.
The next batter Grady Sizemore followed with a three-run home run off of reliever Ron Mahay as the Indians escaped with a 5-2 come-from-behind win.
The Indians are now 6-10 overall. The Royals are 8-7.
