Kearns released; Fox adds Tribe-White Sox game
CHICAGO: The Indians released Austin Kearns today after he cleared waivers.
Kearns was designated for assignment last Thursday to make room on the roster for David Huff. In 150 at-bats, Kearns batted .200 and struggled at the plate coming off the bench. For most of his career, he has been an everyday player.
The Aug. 10 game against the White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field has been added to the Fox national television schedule. Consequently, the game will begin at 4 p.m. (EDT) rather than 7 p.m. Since Fox has exclusive rights to air the contest, it will not be shown on SportsTime Ohio.
