Kipnis expected to play Thursday night
CHICAGO: The soreness in Jason Kipnis’ right side has lessened to the point where he is expected to return to the lineup Thursday night, after missing three games.
""He’ll play tomorrow,’’ manager Manny Acta said this afternoon. “”But we have to manage his playing time. For at least the first week, he won’t be playing every day.
“”Jason took very intense batting practice today. He was swinging the bat well, running and all that. I’ve been very impressed he’s been able to go through this and will be able to play.‘’
Jason Donald has been subbing for Kipnis at second base. Before he got hurt, Kipnis batted second in the lineup, but that might change, depending on how Acta wants to use Shin-Soo Choo and Asdrubal Cabrera.
