Kipnis scratched; Sox starter struck by batted ball
CHICAGO: Jason Kipnis was expecteing to start tonight after missing four games with soreness in his right side. Instead, he was scratched from the lineup with a tight right hamstring.
Chicago starter Philip Humber was struck above the right eye by a line drive off the bat of Kosuke Fukudome in the second inning and was replaced by Zach Stewart. The White Sox announced that Humber was taken out of the game for precautionary reasons and was alert and responsive. He is to undergo a medical evaluation Friday.
