NEW YORK: Aeros fans will have the opportunity to watch one of the Indians' top prospects develop beginning Tuesday night, when left-hander Nick Hagadone starts against Erie at Canal Park.

Hagadone is being promoted from Kinston, where he was 1-3 with a 2.39 earned-run average in 10 starts. He gave up only 28 hits in 37 2/3 innings, striking out 45 and holding opposing batters to a .206 average. His only negative was issuing 29 walks, an average of 6.9 per nine innings.

""That's what we want him to work on,'' Tribe manager Manny Acta said, ""throwing more strikes.''

Hagadone was part of last summer's Victor Martinez trade to the Red Sox and is considered by many the key piece of the deal.
