Lowe proclaims himself ready for season
GLENDALE, Ariz.: Derek Lowe delivered six strong innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on seven hits and no walks, as the Indians lost to the Dodgers 5-4 this afternoon.
"I'm ready,'' Lowe said. "This is the first time all spring that it felt like an actual game. I knew that I was going to be out there long enough to really be pitching. And they had their whole regular team out there.''
Lowe lowered his spring earned-run average to 3.00 in 15 innings.
"I'm happy with it,'' he said of his performance. "You're going to give up runs and hits and stuff, but when there was a possibility of giving up a big inning, we got the third out.''
