Mills' walk-off single gives Aeros 7-6 victory over Erie
AKRON AEROS 7, ERIE SEAWOLVES 6
KEY STATS: Aeros starting pitcher Ryan Edell, who was recently a reliever at Triple-A Columbus, lasted just four innings while allowing four runs on eight hits...In two innings of relief, Aeros right-hander Zach Putnam limited Erie to a harmless hit.
KEY MOMENTS: Despite spotting the SeaWolves the early lead, the Aeros got to Erie's Alfredo Figaro for five runs between the fourth and fifth innings capped by Carlos Santana's two-run double...Nick Weglarz's two-out single in the eighth inning tied the game 6-6...Beau Mills won the game with a broken-bat blooper to right field - the Aeros first walk-off win of the season.
STORM'S STAR: Mills went 2-for-4 with with two a walk and two singles - including the game winner in the bottom of the ninth inning.
"I've been trying a lot of stuff at the plate and all day today I felt good up there," Mills said. "Getting that hit was big for me, but also good for the team."
