MLB Draft starts Tuesday at a frenzied pace. Allie goes to Pittsburgh and Tribe makes second pick
Tuesday at noon the MLB Draft picked up where it left off late Monday night, with two interesting players being taken early.
The second round began with No. 51, and one pick later St. Edward High School RHP Stetson Allie was snapped up at No. 52 by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The 6-foot-2 hurler was considered to have "one of the best pure arms in the draft", with many baseball folks thinking he would go in the first round.
Three selections later, the Indians made their second pick, plucking CF LeVon Washington out of Florida's Chipola Junior College.
Washington is a curious case who as a prep star, was picked in the first round last year by Tampa Bay. But he didn't sign by the deadline. So he went the junior college route for a season and went back into this season's draft.
No doubt the 5-foot-11, 170-pounder has all the tools. But the main qustions that remain about Washington center aroud his defense and attitude.
