MLB signing deadline 24 hours away; ought to be busy for Tribe
In approximately 24 hours, the wait will be over.
The Indians will have either signed their No. 1 draft pick Drew Pomeranz or time will be up.
If it's any consolation to the Indians brass, the left-handed pitcher taken with the fifth-overall pick isn't the only one going down to the wire to Monday's midnight signing deadline.
In fact, only two of the 2010 draft Top 10 picks have signed, leaving eight others scrambling over the final hours to come up with a deal to their liking.
In addition to Pomeranz, the other top unsigned picks as of late Sunday night are as follows:
No. 1 pick C Bryce Harper (Washington Nationals)
No. 2 pick P Jameson Tailllon (Pittsburgh Pirates)
No. 3 pick SS Manny Machado (Baltimore Orioles)
No. 6 pick P Barret Loux (Arizona Diamondbacks)
No. 7 pick P Matt Harvey (New York Mets)
No. 9 pick P Karsten Whitson (San Diego Padres)
In addition, Pomeranz isn't the only player that has the Tribe brass working down to the wire as the team has signed only 20 of their 50 picks so far.
