Raburn sets tone in Tribe's 13-10 win

   GOODYEAR, Ariz.: So far, spring training has been a festival of hitting for the Indians, who beat the Reds 13-10 today at Goodyear Ballpark.

   Ryan Raburn, who was jettisoned by the Tigers after last season, hit two more home runs to give him three in as many at-bats. He started neither Friday's game nor today's.

   Through most of his tenure with Detroit, Raburn was a productive hitter, but last year was a disaster for him, as he batted .171 with one homer and 12 RBI in 205 at-bats.

  But as manager Terry Francona said, ""If he'd had a good year, we wouldn't have had a chance to get him.''

   As a player who can play both the infield and outfield, Raburn is competing for one of two vacant utility spots.

   Raburn had plenty of company generating runs. Michael Brantley, who doubled twice in Friday's 11-10 win over the Reds, doubled and singled today.

   Young shortstop Juan Diaz, who spent most of last year at Akron and Columbus but played 23 games for the Tribe, has three hits in four at-bats, including three doubles.  

   Tribe pitching was spotty. Matt Albers and Corey Kluber struggled the most, as Albers gave up four runs and four hits in one inning, and Kluber yielded two runs and four hits in two innings.

   Brett Myers started and allowed two runs (one earned), three hits and a walk in two innings.
