Santana dropped to sixth in the lineup

CLEVELAND: In 11 games since coming back from a concussion, Carlos Santana is batting .154 (6-for-39) going into tonight’s game with the Reds.
Manager Manny Acta decided it was time to move Santana down two spots in the lineup to the sixth.
“”He’s been scuffling a little, and we’re trying not to add more pressure,’’ Acta said. “”He’s still battling that extra body movement at the plate. He also needs to keep his hands inside the ball to be able to use the whole field.’’
In his first at-bat, Santana singled up the middle.
Acta doesn’t expect any carryover from last week’s angry outbursts by Derek Lowe and Reds manager Dusty Baker that resulted in one brush back pitch and another pitch that hit a batter.
“”It’s not as big a deal as has been made of it,’’ Acta said. “”To me, it’s yesterday’s newspaper. We played the very next day and nothing happened.’’
Baker refused to discuss the topic.
