Santana will play first while LaPorta on DL
CLEVELAND: Twenty-four hours after Travis Hafner was activated from the disabled list, Matt LaPorta took his place with sprained ankle.
""LaPorta has a mild, high ankle sprain and will probably be out two to three weeks,'' manager Manny Acta said this afternoon.
With LaPorta out at least 15 days, the Tribe will need a first baseman.
""Carlos (Santana) will get most of the playing time,'' Acta said. ""But Travis Buck played first some in Triple-A. He's still a work in progress. Jack Hannahan also has seen time there.''
That means Lou Marson will catch on a regular basis, and both of the team's catchers will be play almost every day.
""Fine with me,'' Acta said. ""I just have to stay away from Carlos as the DH, because we don't want our pitchers hitting.''
If Santana were the DH and Marson had to leave the game, Santana would have to move to catcher and Acta would lose the DH. ¶
