It's just half of an inning, but Scott Lewis has already done what the previous three Tribe starters have failed to do: pound the strike zone and get ahead in the count.
In a quick 1-2-3 top of the first, the rookie left-hander got former Indian Marco Scutaro to fly out to left field, struck out Aaron Hill on a change up away and then caught Alex Rios looking.
Quite the statement from the rookie.
The Indians offense appears to be feeding off Lewis' momentum. Although Grady Sizemore struck out to start the bottom of the inning, Mark DeRosa recorded his first hit as an Indian and Victor Martinez followed with a sharp double to right to put two on.
And wouldn't you know, Travis Hafner joined the hit parade with a double off the top of the right field wall to score De Rosa and Martinez and give the Indians a two-run lead - their first advantage of the season.
