Sizemore begins baseball drills
CLEVELAND: Grady Sizemore has progressed to the point to where he is playing catch, and soon he will begin to swing a bat.
""Grady started to play catch and he began land-based running for the first time today,'' head trainer Lonnie Soloff said this afternoon.
Until today, Sizemore did his running on a special treadmill that simulate the pressure of his body weight, enabling him to run without putting a strain on his surgicially repaired back.
If SIzemore has no issues, he probably will begin taking dry swings this weekend. After that, he will progress to hitting off a tee and eventually take batting practice.
He is not expected to return to the lineup until June at the earliest.
