Sizemore out for season
Grady Sizemore ended up needing microfracture surgery on his left knee, meaning that he will be out six to nine months. He is expected to be out until spring training.
Here is the rest of the statement from the Indians: The 90-minute procedure was performed by Dr. Richard Steadman, who performed the arthroscopic procedure that included microfracture.
The recovery for such a procedure is 6-to-9 months and Grady is expected to participate in exhibition contests next March when camp opens in Goodyear, Arizona. Steadman felt today’s procedure was necessary to give Grady both the ability to make a complete recovery from his left knee injury and for him to return to a high-level of play for many years to come.
