GOODYEAR, Ariz.: Grady Sizemore's injury problems have worsened.

Dr. Barth Green of the University of Miami School of Medicine performed a micro discectomy in what was described by the team as ""minimally invasive.'' Sizemore is expected to miss at least eight to 12 weeks. He will return to the Tribe's spring training headquarters here to do his rehabilitation program.

He came to camp to complete rehab on his right knee, which he injured last year sliding into second. The deep bone bruise that resulted required surgery in October. Sizemore might have opened the season on time if his back injury had not occurred. The disc problem to light when he felt a twinge while he was fielding ground balls. The injury was first descsribed as lower back strain.
