Some minor league notes for Wednesday
* The American League All-Stars defeated the National League All-Stars 4-3 Tuesday night in the New-York Penn League All-Star Game played at Richmond County Bank Ballpark in Staten Island...Mahoning Valley had three representatives participate in 2B Dan DeGeorge, RHP Alex Kaminsky and RHP Owen Dew for the American League team...DeGeorge went 0-for-2 and Kaminsky pitched one inning, giving up one run on a home run.
* Indians rehabbing LHP Aaron Laffey made his first rehab appearance for low Class-A Lake County Monday. He allowed one hit and struck out three batters in one inning of work.
* On Monday the International League named Columbus RHP Paolo Espino the league’s Pitcher of the Week for the period of Aug. 9-15...The honor marked the first for a Clippers pitcher this season, despite the team owning the top spot in the I.L. West Division...In one game over that span, Espino tossed seven scoreless innings in an Aug. 14th victory over Louisville, limiting the Bats to three hits and two walks while striking out eight.
