Three Aeros players named to All-Star Game
Aeros players and 3B Lonnie Chisenhall, OF John Drennen and RHP Bryce Stowell were named to the Western Division roster for the 2010 Eastern League All-Star Game in Harrisburg, Pa., July 14th.
Chisenhall, the Indians first-round selection (29th overall) in the 2008 draft, is also participating in the 12th annual MLB XM All-Star Futures Game on July 11th in Anaheim, California. The 21-year old left-handed hitter is batting .276 with six home runs and 28 RBI for the Aeros so far this season.
Drennen, who has split playing time between left and right field, currently ranks second in the league with five triples. In addition to riding a seven-game hitting streak, he is batting .300. The soon-to-be 24-year old was a sandwich-round pick (33rd overall) in 2005 out of Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego.
Stowell, the Aeros latest closer, has only been with the Aeros for over a month, but has made the best of that short period. He has not allowed a run since his promotion to Double-A from high Class-A Kinston May 20th. In his 12 appearances (one start) in Akron, Stowell has struck out 26 batters and walked just eight in 20 innings. Overall this season, the Indians 20th-round selection in the 2008 draft out of UC-Irvine, owns a 0.79 ERA in 23 appearances with 67 strikeouts in 45 1/3 innings.
Last year, five Aeros players appeared in the 2009 Eastern League All-Star Game at Waterfront Park in Trenton, NJ, and helped the Western Division earn a 5-3 victory.
