Time to extend Lee's contract?
Anthony Castrovince, the Cleveland Indians beat writer for MLB.com, is reporting it may be the right time to offer American League Cy Young winner Cliff Lee a contract extension. More importantly Lee may be willing to do it this offseason.
"If they want to discuss it, we're open to the discussion," said Darek Braunecker, Lee's agent, In Castrovince's story. "That ball's in their court, in that regard."
Lee is currently signed through this season for $5.75 million. He has a team option in 2010 for $9 million.
