Tribe achieves milestone; Masterson compiles weird stat
OAKLAND, Calif.: Despite losing the finale, the Indians finished the nine-game trip with a 7-2 record and won their first three road series of the year for the first time since 1988.
That year, the Tribe won two of three against the Rangers, swept the Orioles in a three-gamer and took two of three from the Twins.
The question: Will they do as well at home, where they are 1-4? A six-game homestand begins Tuesday with three against the Royals and concludes with three against the Angels.
Explain this: Why has Justin Masterson had so much trouble in the third and fourth innings? In three of his four starts, he has allowed 12 earned runs in those innings. In all of the other innings, he has yielded four.
