Tribe acquires pitcher with bloated numbers
CINCINNATI: The Indians acquired 26-year-old right-hander Esmil Rogers from the Rockies this afternoon and plan to add him to the 25-man roster.
Rogers made 23 appearances out of the bullpen for Colorado and posted an 8.06 earned-run average in 25 2/3 innings. He gave up 36 hits, 18 walks and struck out 29.
To make room for him on the 40-msan roster, catcher Luke Carlin was designated for assignment. The club did not announce when Rogers would join the team.
