Tribe attack overwhelms Cubs; Carrasco gets scare
MESA, Ariz.: The Indians amassed 20 hits -- seven for extra bases -- in their 13-5 win over the Cubs today at HoHoKam Stadium.
Lonnie Chisenhall, Mark Reynolds and NIck Swisher all homered to lead the offense. Swisher had three hits, including a double, and drove in four runs; Chisenhall also doubled, singled and had three RBI.
Drew Stubbs doubled, tripled and amassed three RBI, and Reynolds doubled and drove in two runs.
""It was a good day for the offense all the way around,'' manager Terry Francona said.
The game began on a frightening note for the Tribe, when Carlos Carrasco was hit in the head with a smash off the bat of Darnell McDonald in the first inning.
""It ticked off his glove and hit him right here,'' Francona said, pointing to the right side of his head. ""It got him pretty good.
""We made him go through just about every test imaginable (on the field). And then we did more in the clubhouse.''
Cartrasco stayed in the game, giv ing up two runs, four hits and a walk in gthree innings.
