* Indians closer Kerry Wood (strained right lat) was activated before Friday's game. To make room on the roster, RHP and reliever Jensen Lewis was optioned to Triple-A Columbus. Wood has been sidelined since his outing in spring training and just completed a two-outing rehab appearance at Double-A Akron. Lewis started the season in the Indians bullpen, allowing three runs over 10 1/3 innings.

* Tribe SS Asdrubal Cabrera is out of the lineup again for the third consecutive game, continuing to battle left quadriceps tightness. But Cabrera did take batting practice. With Cabrera out, veteran 2B Mark Grudzielanek is hitting leadoff again and Luis Valbuena continues to try and hold down the fort at shortstop.
