Cleveland Indians
Tribe not done trading untill final minutes of Saturday deadline
By the time the Indians defeated host Toronto Saturday afternoon, the team was minus two more veterans - originally-scheduled starting pitcher Jake Westbrook and closer Kerry Wood.
Westbrook was shipped to St. Louis an hour before the game, while Wood earned a promotion to the New York Yankees in the middle of all the action. The move was made for the infamous player to be named, a transaction that must be completed on or before October 15.
In his second season with the Indians, Wood was a mere 1-4 with eight saves and a gaudy 6.30 ERA in 23 relief appearances between two stints on the disabled list.
