Tribe re-signs Reyes, Miller

By Sheldon Published: December 13, 2009

Just because the Indians did not offer contracts to Anthony Reyes and Adam Miller didn't mean the club was ready to jettison the pitchers. [ep
So one day after non-tendering both players, the Tribe signed each to a minor-league contract, with Reyes' deal including an invitation to major league spring training camp. [ep
Reyes is recovering from right elbow reconstruction surgery performed last June. He began the 2009 season in Cleveland's rotation before being shut down. He is not expected to return to the active roster until at least the All-Star Game break. [ep
Miller has endured a series of operations on his right middle finger, putting his career in jeopardy. Last month, he underwent his third surgery of the year. It is not known when or if he will pitch again, despite being one of the top prospects in the Tribe farm system. [ep
Right-handed reliever Jose Veras also was non-tendered over the weekend but has not been re-signed. [ep
