Tribe's 2nd and 3rd round picks in MLB draft
The Indians selected a pair of right-handed high school pitchers in the second and third rounds of the 2012 MLB Draft.
In the second round, they took Mitchell Brown (79th overall) & in the third round Kieran Lovegrove (110th overall).
Brown, from Minnesota, went 6-1 with a 0.65 ERA in seven starts this spring for Rochester Century High School. Committed to pitch for the University of San Diego, he was a Third Team High School All-American selection by Rawlings.
Lovegrove, from San Diego, Ca., was named co-MVP of Sea View League and helped pitch Mission Viejo to the CIF Division II title. As a senior, he went 6-3 with a 1.58 ERA. He was also named a 2012 Rawlings Third Team High School All-American and a California - All Region First Team selection by Rawlings. Brown had committed to play at Arizona State.
