Tribe shortstop AL Player of the Week
ANAHEIM, Calif.: Asdrubal Cabrera and White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko have been named American League co-Players of the Week that ended Sunday.
In six games, Cabrera batted .360 with three home runs and eight RBI. He was second in the league with 19 total bases, tied for third with five runs scored and fourth with a .760 slugging percentage.
Cabrera's contributions were particularly important in two wins against the Red Sox, driving in four runs (including three with a home run) in an 8-4 victory and squeezing home the winning run in a 1-0 triumph.
This is the second career weekly award for Cabrera.
Konerko batted .417 in six games last week and like Cabrera, had three home runs and eight RBI.
