Triple-A Columbus (73-58) - The visiting Clippers lost 5-4 to Toledo in 12 innings...RHP Yohan Pino allowed four runs on six hits over six innings while striking out 10, but did not figure into the decision...Three Clippers relievers combined to hold the Mud Hens scoreless for four innings before RHP Carlton Smith (1-5, 7.12 ERA) gave up the winning run in 1 2/3 inning to take the loss...DH Wes Hodges went 1-for-5 with a home run...CF Ezequiel Carrera went 2-for-6 with a triple and run scored.
Double-A Akron (65-64) - Visiting Akron used a 12-hit attack to defeat Bowie 8-1...LHP Eric Berger (5-5, 4.68 ERA) earned the win in his first start with the Aeros since returning from his first career stint in Triple-A, holding the Baysox to one hit over six innings...RHP Steven Wright picked up his fifth save in limiting Bowie to one run in three innings of relief...3B Lonnie Chisenhall went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, a double and RBI.
High Class-A Kinston (27-30 in second half) - Host Kinston won the first game of a double header 4-3 in eight innings over Frederick and were mired in a scoreless tie in the fifth inning of the second game when this report was completed...In Game One, RHP Marty Popham allowed three runs on four hits in six innings and did not figure into the decision...LHP Chris Jones (3-3, 1.57) picked up the win with two innings of scoreless relief...CF Bo Greenwell went 1-for-3 with a double, RBI and run scored.
Low Class-A Lake County (26-31 in second half) - Visiting Lake County was leading Bowling Green 3-1 in the top of the ninth inning when this report was completed...LHP Jason Knapp was in line to earn his second consecutive win since joining the Captains, limiting the host to one hit over five innings while striking out six...3B Adam Abraham was 2-for-4 with a home run, double and run scored...SS Casey Frawley was also 2-for-4 with a home run.
Short-season Mahoning Valley (28-37) - Host Mahoning Valley lost 3-1 to State College...RHP Michael Goodnight (0-2, 6.48 ERA) gave up two runs (one earned) on four walks and two hits in just 2 2/3 innings to take the loss...2B Kevin Fontanez's home run in the seventh inning provided the Scrappers lone score.
