Triple-A Columbus (5-2) - Columbus remained in first place in the International League West by topping visiting Toledo 3-2 while winning its fourth consecutive game...RHP Hector Rondon (0-0, 8.00 ERA) allowed two runs (one earned) in six innings. Although he struck out five batters, he also walked five and gave up a home run...C Carlos Santana continued to hit, leading the Clippers offense with two hits (2-for-3 with a run scored). He is batting .423 in seven games...Playing DH on a Major League rehab assignment, Russell Branyan went 1-for-4 with a double.
Double-A Aeros (5-2) - The Aeros wrapped up their seven-game season-opening road trip with a 4-3 loss to Trenton, losing just once in each series against hosts Binghamton and Trenton...However, the Aeros dropped out of a first place tie in the Eastern League Western Division and into second place...LHP Scott Barnes (0-1, 3.24 ERA) tossed five hitless innings, but the Thunder rallied for four runs in the seventh inning against reliever Bryan Price (0-1, 9.00 ERA)...3B Jared Goedert (2-for-5) and C Alex Castillo (2-for-4 with two doubles) led the way on offense for the .
High Class-A Kinston (3-4)- The K-Tribe was held to just two hits in a 1-0 loss to visiting Wilmington, as Kinston remained mired in last place in the Carolina League Southern Division ...LHP Nick Hagadone (0-1, 0.00 ERA) took the tough-luck loss despite holding the Blue Rocks to a run on five hits. Hagadone, the young centerpiece in the trade that sent catcher Victor Martinez to Boston, struck out six batters and walked only one...LF Donnie Webb and SS Ron Rivas were the only two Kinston batters to get hits in the game.
Low Class-A Lake County (7-0) - Lake County topped host Lansing 7-3, remaining the only unbeaten team in the 16-team Midwest League. The Captains pounded out 15 hits in the process...RHP Joseph Gardner (1-0, 2.00 ERA) struck out seven batters and allowed just two runs (one earned) over five innings to claim the win. RF Gregory Folgia led the way in going 3-for-4, while LF Bo Greenwell went 3-for-5 with two RBI to add to his team-leading .440 batting average.
