White leaves early with finger injury

By Sheldon Published: May 20, 2011

CLEVELAND: Alex White threw strike two to Ryan Hanigan in the third inning and shook his right hand as if he'd been bitten by an insect.

Head trainer Lonnie Soloff trotted to the mound and examined White's hand, but the pitcher remained in the game. He walked the next three batters and gave up two runs (one earned) before getting out of the inning then didn't come out for the fourth.

Two innings later, the Tribe announced that White had left because of ""right middle finger soreness'' but gave no further information.
