Who will be Tribe's center fielder in 2011?

By Sheldon Published: September 28, 2010

CLEVELAND: With the season coming to a close, it's time to think -- or at least wonder -- about next year.

When spring training begins in mid-February, Grady Sizemore presumably will be recovered from micro-fracture surgery, but Michael Brantley, who has played center in his absence, has demonstrated that he can play the position every bit as well as Sizemore.
Moreover, even if the operation on Sizemore's knee is successful, it might leave him with less speed than he had formerly.
Consequently, which player will open the season in center and which player will be in left?

""We won't even think about those decisions until Grady gets healthy,'' manager Manny Acta said this afternoon. ""Grady was just in Vail (Colo.), and everything went well.''

Sizemore visited the Vail clinic of Dr. Richard Steadman, who performed the surgery, for a progress check.

""Both Grady and Carlos (Santana) are supposed to be ready for spring training,'' Acta said.

Santana also underwent knee surgery in August.
